The Pitch 2009 Final

Date Added: Mon November 2 2009
On 16 November, Global Entrepreneurship Week will begin and the world will celebrate what you do - running a business. The Pitch 2009 Final and Conference will be one of the UK's biggest free events during the seven day initiative.

1. Be among the first to find out about the UK's newest business talent
Discover some of the country's most innovative new entrepreneurs. Some 30 business owners in five cities presented in front of 22 judges. Five entrepreneurs have been chosen and alongside a wildcard finalist selected by the BusinessZone.co.uk community will compete live on stage for the chance to win £50,000 worth of business support prizes.

2. Learn from some of the biggest names in British enterprise
Some high profile entrepreneurial figures are participating at the event. Among them are Doug Richard, former Dragons' Den panellist and founder of School for Start-ups and Tim Campbell, winner of The Apprentice 2005 and founder of the Bright Ideas Trust - both of whom will judge The Pitch finalists. Other entrepreneurs will also be on hand to share the secrets of their business success.

3. Receive practical advice from knowledgeable experts
During table workshops at the event you'll be able to access advice on all sorts of business subjects. Led by organisations including The Next Women, Business Link, Institute of Directors, Yell and eOffice, you'll gain valuable - and free - advice which you can apply to your business the next day.

4. Learn how to improve your pitch
At some point in your business life, it's highly likely you'll have to present your business to investors. Whether it's an appearance on Dragons' Den or a presentation not watched by millions of television viewers, Bill Morrow, co-founder of Angels Den - a network which connects entrepreneurs and angels investors - will, during an entertaining but highly informative live session, give you the inside track on how to nail your pitch.
