ICAEW Launches New SME Funding Adviser Scheme
| Date Added: Mon February 12 2007 |
Small firms will gain improved access to independent advice with the new SME Funding Adviser Scheme from ICAEW.
Almost 2,000 ICAEW firms have already signed up to the new scheme, designed to meet the needs of SMEs and help them to address the key issues in raising finance.
The Institute's latest Enterprise Report revealed that the smallest businesses are concerned about being able to withstand increasing costs of borrowing and sound financial management has never been so critical.
Michael Izza, chief executive of the ICAEW, comments: "Our members already give guidance to many SMEs and because of our members these companies can do business with confidence. The scheme aims to signpost more SMEs to the expertise a chartered accountant can provide."
Michael Snyder, chair of the Government and Accountants Working Group, said: "The UK government wants to encourage entrepreneurship and to increase the choice of finance for start-up and growth businesses. We welcome the initiative the ICAEW has shown in becoming the first professional body to become a part of the scheme." |
