Paypal facilitates SME-commerce
Date Added: Tue April 10 2007
PayPal has launched a new product to help SMEs accept online payments cost-effectively and securely.

The Website Payments Pro product includes Express Checkout, Direct Payment API and Virtual Terminal functions. Express Checkout takes away the need to re-key billing or delivery information with every purchase. The Direct Payment API allows businesses to accept credit or debit card payments. The Virtual Terminal enables firms to accept orders offline via phone, fax or mail and then enter the details online so the order-processing is completed by Paypal.

Companies can now even brand the checkout process web pages and direct buyers back to their websites to continue shopping after payments have been completed.
Carl-Olav Scheible, general manager of merchant services at PayPal said: "Merchants can gain access to their funds immediately, without dealing with the lengthy holding of reserves that can tie cash up for weeks."
